This album is a posthumous collection of world premier recordings of Donald’s non-microtonal music, and includes a ukulele piece, both written and played by him, as the title track. Many thanks to his collaborators Lee Ferguson, Lena Gersbacher, Celia Ireland, Maiko Matsuoka and Elena Ralli for taking the time to specially record his music, and to Vasiliki Kourti-Papamoustou for not only producing some recordings for us, but also for her Post- Production work on the whole release. A huge thank you to Donald’s daughter, Dot for creating the album cover!

Donald Bousted Edition
‘As ever, Donald Bousted brought a highly intelligent, thoughtful, but also quirky approach to everything he wrote, and that includes these non-microtonal works for a variety of instruments. Every note is perfectly placed – in these pieces silence is as important as sound – and in the title piece, recorded by Donald himself, the constant repetition of a single figure suggests a post-modern approach to the seventeenth-century. It’s a lovely way to remember Donald – on his cloud, with his uke, endlessly repeating a dotted rhythm in 6/8 time and finding fresh beauty in each statement‘
